Panama City/N.W. Florida The spanish run has started in full. This has got to be the best I have seen in 6 or 7 years. We have been catching fish almost five pounds already and coming back with a lot of fish everyday. At first it was mostly action on Gotchas! and jigs but now with the bigger fish showing up we have been getting them on topwater. I look to see big spanish in the bay throughout the summer. The trout and the reds are starting to pick up. We had a four pound trout a couple of days ago along with a pair of reds. With the cooler weather of the last few days I expect them to shut down temporarily. The steamplant canal/Warren Bayou is still producing. Along the beach, pompano are showing up in good numbers but not everyday. Cobia are being caught but with very few days of Southeast wind the big numbers of fish are still not here, shouldn't be to long. Offshore nothing has changed although snapper season starts in a couple of weeks. Book your guide trip as early as possible, it looks like we are going to be very busy. In the store we now sell beer and wine along with some other neat eating products. Come by and visit and get some good fishing info if your down on vacation. JP
