Panama City, NW Florida Hot water canal (Warren Bayou) is on fire if you catch it right. Seems like less boat traffic in and out means more fish on the line. Maybe we have something to look forward to this spring because the trout in the canal seem to be a little larger than years past. Grubs for the spin fisherman and black clousers for the fly guys seem to do best. Reds and trout are around the mouths of the bayous and creeks, live shrimp will be the best bait. This should continue throughout the next two months. The jetties is holding some winter blues and bonita. Late afternoon seems to be the best. Duck season has been great. During the warmer days it's tougher but there doesn't seem to be a lack of birds. Had one of the best bay hunts in years last weekend with Rob and Caz Pruitt...buffies, redheads, bluebills, gadwalls and no shortage of mergs....saw some pins and ringers. Freshwater ducking is good also with more ringers than the last few years, lot's of puddle ducks and a healthy population of woodies. If you want a good and professional duck hunt give me a call....season ends on January 29th. see you on the h2o. jp
