Panama City/NW Florida Fishing this summer has been really good. Finding bait has been the big issue for some but I have been getting plenty all summer long. We have started catching some nice trout and reds up on the flats and this will continue all the way through the fall. This year the spanish have been large and thick. There have been many days when we had six or more spanish that weighed over 5 or 6 pounds. This should continue and actually get better as the fall run starts and they come back through as they migrate south for winter. We have caught these big spanish all the way through Thanksgiving on a lot of years. I start targeting grouper in the bay along with flounder and black tips this time of year. We still go after specs and reds, can actually do all of this in one trip. Floundering will be heating up with the fall migration. I can put you on the boat with a state of the art floundering light and such for a night on the water looking for doormats. One of the guides asked me to be nice earlier this year and I have been all summer. There are some new guys out there and you would be definitely be wasting your time and money hiring. If i'm booked I can reccomend a couple of guides in the area to take you fishing that can do a good job. I will also let you know which ones to stay away from and why. Fishing mid August through December is very good in Panama City, less crowded and a lot more fish. Book your trip and come on down to have some fun. I run all year long.
