N. Georgia Stripers.....trout bite a little slow.

I took my gal up to N. Georgia these last few days for some R&R. We invited "4lb. Ray" and his wife to come along. Ray wanted to get a striper guide in between wading for trout in the local streams. Fishing, like anywhere else, can be hot or cold depending on a lot of different things. We had a full moon over the weekend and some hot weather which has an effect on the stripers. Our guide put us on an early morning bite. Ray got the first fish which turned out to be eighteen pounds. We had three more fish all in the 8 to 10 pound range. We caught a bunch of spotted bass along with the stripers. It was a great trip and I would reccomend the guide. {%image_id=11317%} {%image_id=11313%} {%image_id=11314%} We fished Lake Nottingly, well up in the mountains, it was like fishing in a bowl. Beautiful scenery, the water was clear and deep with the deepest part over 160'. {%image_id=11316%} {%image_id=11315%} We caught a couple of trout Thursday on the Nottingly River. We fished the Taccoa on Saturday, seeing a lot of fish but having a tough time with them. I was told a lot of people had a tough day on Saturday because of the full moon and rising water. What a great fishery, can't wait to get back.
