Seeing "red" everywhere on the flats in Panama City Florida.

As we hit some redfish spots this morning starting out the day, the wind was a little brisk and the temperatur perfect. Dean was visiting from the midwest. An avid fly fisherman, cancer survivor, all around good guy wanted to take a shot at some Panama City reds. As we worked some area's, exchanging fish stories about Belize, Mexico and other far off destinations, it became apparent the fish may not cooperate by eating a fly. Dean hit one on the head, another darted by the boat, big schools would come just outside of casting range and turn away. Frustrating. We say 40 or more fish this morning but could not get one to eat a fly. Some of it was our fault and some was the fish just didn't want to eat. It's one of those good news/bad news things....good news (for everyone coming in the future) is we saw a lot of reds...bad news they ain't eatin' yo fly! Such is life. We fished briefly for trout catching a bunch on DOA and popping corks. Saw several big trout cruising the flats this morning. May is a good month for trout. Call me, I have the best days picked out and ready to book. Last we hit Major Wood Point, finishing the day off with some spanish action. Good luck Dean, hope to see you again. {%image_id=15057%}
