I know its been awhile since I have given a report lately, the good old spring time winds have finally started to show themselves. I did however get a chance to get out today and we in store for an action packed day. The Spanish mackeral were everywhere and they were the big ones 4-5 lb average. There was also big bull redfish cruising around and willing to bite cigar minnows. But the real reason we were out there was for the kings. The smoker kings were swimming down the bar and we were sight casting to them also using dead and alive cigar minnows. They were very hungry to say the least. My brother caught two in the 40 lb range and we caught several more in the 20 to 30 lb class. The pompano have also made their grand entrance and the bite was good for most of the day. As for the Cobia they have slowed down the last couple days but with the full moon only a week and half away it should show significant improvements in the coming future. King fishing is very exciting, they pull lots of drag and sometimes jump out of the water when feeding. Don't miss out on your oppurtunity to catch you a smoker king of your own.
