We were able to fight a 25knot North wind and look for few cobia this morning. We saw two fish, around 40lbs but both were shy and wouldn't eat. Both days we got out looking for cobia this week we saw fish. I don't profess to know everything there is about cobia fishing so when I have a question I call a couple of people that live around town that are without a doubt the best in the area. They are not guides but locals that know more about cobia fishing than any guides including me. These guys live and eat cobia and month a year and if there are fish to catch they are catching them. Basically what I was told was the big run is probably a week or ten days away. There are a few fish dribbling through. Even though some around the area and on the internet will lead you to believe that the run is in full swing, that's not true. We get about ten days each year when they can be thick as rice flying at a double wedding in Shan Hi. That's not happened yet. So...we saw three in the last couple of days. I'm sure we will boat a few next week. So when I have a 13 year return customer, Wally Senter and his son Jake on the boat and we can't get a cobia bite we spend some time in the bay fishing for spanish. We pounded a bunch of fish for fish taco's and called it a day. {%image_id=14711%} {%image_id=14712%}
