Water "browned" up again....fishing is hit and miss.

Last Monday's heavy rainwater finally made it to the bay in the form of "run-off" over the weekend. The fish are here, just hit and miss. Keeping it real; you can go up to West and East Bay, throw some popping corks or noisy topwaters, and catch some fish. There are a lot of hungry trout and reds cruising the flats looking for an easy meal you just need to cover some ground looking for them. Sight fishing is a bust due to clarity for a few more days. Good news is the weather is supposed to lay down over the next week which should be good for clarity and moving the freshwater out of the bay. If you work at it there are still a few fish to catch: {%image_id=9109%} {%image_id=9110%} The bay spanish have disappeared once again with the water change. Hopefully they will be back by the weekend. Dirty water up and down the beach is making it tough for the cobia fishermen. There have been some bright spots, some reds in the pass, a few cobia and a bonus jack like this twenty pound fish cought on #8 line this morning. Good fight, good fish. {%image_id=9111%} {%image_id=9113%} Action shot {%image_id=9112%} The real deal {%image_id=9114%}
