Last week started slow after a front blew in then got better and better as the week went on. Monday's half day trip was tough fishing. We managed to catch a few nice fish by days end but had to really work for a bite. Tuesday I fished the beaches and rock piles off Anna Maria and caught nice mackerl and flounder. Thursday morning we went offshore to the seven mile reef and caught kingfish and little tunny which where a blast on light tackle. That afternoon trip we fished the beaches for spanish mackerl that we cast to with gotcha plugs. When we were in them good everyone on the boat had a fish on. Fridays full day trip we stayed in the bay and caught snook, reds, and trout. Things started off a little slow but picked up as the day went on. The last hour of the trip we had five triples on. One time it would be a snook and two redfish another would be three reds. Another would be two snook and a red it was great fishing!
Tight Lines,
Capt. Rick Gross
