May is one of my favorite months for fishing in Biscayne Bay for the much sought after and not easily enticed tarpon. As expected May was not disappointing. My customers were very happy with the number of shots available with both fly and bait. Since starting my DNA Tagging efforts for the FWC I have learned there is a big difference between catching tarpon and DNAing tarpon. Getting a DNA sample requires you to actually hold on to the fish long enough to get a sample of skin with a tinny Scotchbrite pad. I call it the DNA Jinx. I usually warn my customers that they are about to loose their tarpon as I reach for the DNA kit. Here are some pictures to highlight the month.{%image_id=10204%}{%image_id=10206%}{%image_id=10207%}{%image_id=10208%}{%image_id=10205%}
