Early in the week the fishing was all but perfect with increased numbers of tarpon cruising the beaches of each day. By mid-week the southeast and southeast winds caused swells and poor visibility. Many of the tarpon moved off the beach and the ones still there were running deep and very hard to spot in time to make a decent presentation. We fished the backcountry Friday with great success on reds and snook. Fly Fishing Technics: We spent most of the week either poling or staked out on the shoals of Charlotte Harbor's barrier Islands. A few tarpon were also cruising the beaches. Tarpon Fishing Tip of the Week: When the wind picks up and water clarity drops swap to a fast sinking fly and possibly a sink tip line to get down to the strike zone fast.

Tight Lines,
