Snook fishing's been hot, they've moved from the backcountry and out the beaches in Flamingo and to the outer islands of Everglades city. We've caught Snook in the 8-15 lbs class all on light tackle- 20 lbs Suffix 832, led by 20lbs fluorocarbon and ALL on plugs. I recommended a Rapala Shadow rap (jerked aggressively), but some have been caught on gulp swim baits as well as gulp shrimp. The Snook photo attached was caught on the plug above, "jerked aggressively" near a deep undercut out of Everglades city on a dropping tide! The fish fought quite a bit before my client and I "boga'ed it" right near the boat. Shorty thereafter, she spit both treble hooks… Nice Snook, it came in at 10lbs. {%image_id=54751%}
