SNOOK BITING IN THE EVERGLADES

It's April, and the Snook have started their pre-spawn feeding here in the Everglades. In spite of the major fish kill we had in 2010, there are still some big fish that survived. The past couple of weeks my parties have caught and released several nice Snook in and over the slot limit (28 to 33 inches). The Redfish bite continues to be good. There are a lot of small fish being caught, with a few slot fish and oversized fish mixed in. With the number of small fish being caught this year, next years redfish bite should be phenomenal. Seatrout continue to bite as well. Most of my big fish (over 20 inches) are coming off of the oyster bars and offshore when you can get out there. The grass flats are still hold fish as well. Have not been able to get offshore this week. Water temperature is high, so the Cobia and Permit should be out there.
