This past week the snook were feeding around the floating docks and mangrove shorelines near the passes. Free lined whitebait on 3/0 circle hooks works fine, but anglers might want to beef up their leader to 40-50lb. There have been some very large females pushing 40 inches cruising these areas. The redfish are hanging around the mangroves and oyster bars on high water and will take shrimp tipped jig heads or free lined pinfish. Drifting the passes produced snapper, seatrout, jacks, ladyfish, and sharks. Bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads on the bottom is the ticket.
