The bite this past week was pretty tough for anglers in and around Estero Bay.Fish were caught just not much in size. The passes were producing pompano, whiting, silver trout, spotted seatrout, sharks, mackerel, and jacks. Bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads seemed to work best although shrimp under popping corks worked as well. There was a decent seatrout bite over the grass flats near deeper water. Shrimp under popping corks was the ticket. Anglers managed a few keepers, but most were in the 13-14 inch range. There were also plenty of ladyfish picked up with this method. Redfish action has been really slow this past week, but hopefully the warmer weather and water temps will get them eating again. Look to the oyster bars and mangroves islands on high water and throw 1/8 oz jigheads tipped with shrimp.

Tight Lines,
