The spotted seatrout bite continues to be on fire for backbay anglers in and around Estero Bay. Drifting the grass flats in 3-5 feet of water or setting anchor near deeper channels is where anglers are having the best action. Shrimp under popping corks or bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads will work best. The sheepshead are still hanging around mangrove shorelines and docks pilings and shrimp tipped jig heads are the ticket. The passes are holding pompano, seatrout, jacks, and ladyfish. Shrimp under popping corks seems to work fine, but bouncing jig heads with shrimp will also work.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Jon Fetter
