This past week there were plenty of options for anglers in and around Estero Bay. Redfish were feeding around the oyster bars on higher water and shrimp tipped jig heads proved the go-to bait. Spotted seatrout were plentiful over the grass flats in 3-5 feet of water. Shrimp under popping corks was the ticket, but the bigger trout those over 20 inches were caught using live pinfish under floats. The passes are holding ladyfish, seatrout, and jacks. Shrimp under popping corks seemed to work best. There is also the occasional spanish mackerel and a cast and retrieve shrimp tipped jig head worked best.
