If big game is what you are looking for then now is a great time to get on the water. The nearshore waters are teaming with sharks of all species and sizes. Blacktips, spinners, hammerheads, lemon, and even nurse sharks are daily catches. Cut bait works best, ladyfish, jacks, or threadfin herrings. Put out a chum bag start cutting up baits and wait. Shouldn't take too long for them to show up. They are ranging in size from 4 feet to over 10 feet. The backbay bite has been tough for anglers, but patience will pay off if you want redfish or snook. Quality bait is the key to getting these, throw your net and start fishing. Pinfish or whitebait will work fine. There are plenty of snapper and small trout and ladyfish in the passes. Bottom bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads or shrimp under popping corks is the set-up.

Tight Lines,
