Estero Bay Report

The winds made fishing extremely difficult in the bay this past week, but there were fish to be caught. Sheepshead are staging in their cold water locations and willing to take shrimp tipped jig heads. Look for them around dock pilings, oyster bars, and mangrove edges near deep water. Spotted seatrout are on the grass flats in deeper water. Try throwing shrimp under popping corks in 4-6 feet of water. Redfish are few and far between but some are being caught along the mangrove edges on higher tides. Shrimp tipped jig heads will work best.
