Yesterday was a wonderful weary morning in the bay. I found that the bait of choice was shrimp, though, one could find decent whitebait around Big San Carlos. Snook were active and hiding in deeper water that was moving swiftly. The turn of the tide made all the difference in the world. Redfish were all over the grass flats and oyster bars. Live shrimp and cut white bait proved to get them to bite. Making LONG casts was our key to success. Sheepshead are literally EVERYWHERE and in big numbers. The flat I was fishing was COVERED in them. The key was to use a small hook with some weight. Cover the hook with shrimp or crab, be patient, and on your game. Good luck and remember to have fun fishing!
