Prime Time! Best time of the year! In my opinion July/August is the best time of the year to target juvenile Tarpon. This year the afternoon Florida rainy season was delayed for whatever reason. The water temps were up in the low 90's. Now that the rain has fully kicked into gear the water temps have fallen and the fish are active! These fish want to eat. We have been putting on average 15 fish in the air each trip when the conditions are right. Early mornings and late evenings are still the ticket for these fish to eat! However if you get a strong enough outgoing tide in the middle of the day tarpon fishing can still be effective. "If it ain't chartreuse it ain't no use." The Estero bay Tarpon have been feeding primarily on green chartreuse color. {%image_id=63491%}{%image_id=63492%}{%image_id=63493%}{%image_id=63494%}{%image_id=63495%}{%image_id=63496%}
