It's been a good few weeks minus the usual windy ones thrown in. When the wind is minimal, we've had fun nearshore jumping tarpon sometimes within a few hundred yards of the shore all the way out to 45 feet. Permit are in full swing and seeing schools of over 50 isn't surprising at all. Snook fishing is ramping up as the big fish are patrolling the beaches harassing the schools of bait swimming by. The redfish bite is much better than the previous month with good size fish being caught mostly on the outgoing tides for me. Trout are both in the back-bays in 3-4 feet of water as well as along the beaches and in the passes. we just got through the full moon that was out at night unobstructed by clouds, so the bite should be good starting this weekend.
