The fishing this past week in Estero Bay continues to be extremely consistant. There is plenty of bait on the nearshore reefs in the form of threadfin herrings and the snook are willing to take it. Freelined threads on 2/0 circle hooks will work best around floating docks and mangrove shorelines on high water. The key is to make sure you have good moving water. The redfish bite remained strong around the mangroves and oyster bars. Sheimp on a 1/4 jighead seemd to work fine. Don't forget to use cutbait on 2/0 circle hooks for them as well. Get out early to avoid the heat and afternoon thuderstorms, and take plenty of fluids and sunscreen.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Jon Fetter
