This week in Estero Bay

Even with the chilly weather this past week the fishing in Estero Bay was pretty good. The seatrout bite remained strong near the grass flats and oyster bars. Shrimp under a popping cork was the go-to set up for them. Look for slightly deeper water near these locations and that is where you will find them. The sheepshead bite is getting stronger as the water cools. Shrimp on a 1/0 circle hook with a split shot seemed to work best for them. Fish around the dock pilings, mangroves roots, and oyster bars as this is where they like to hang out. The redfish bite was slow, but we did manage a few around the mangroves on higher water. Shrimp on a jig head will work. Remember to work an area really good before moving on. They are moving around slower now with this lower water temp so be patient.
