This week in Estero Bay
Estero Bay, florida

The fishing this past week was very consistent with both the nearshore and backbay bite. The nearshore reef when you could get out was hot with daily catches of trout, sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, and the occasional gag grouper. Shrimp on a jig head seemed to work best. Anchor up from the structure and sink your baits to the bottom. The Spanish we hitting the jig head on a slow retrieve. The backbay bite was good for trout, ladyfish, sheepshead, and redfish. Shrimp under a popping cork worked over the grass flats was the key to trout and ladyfish. The redfish and sheepshead were caught up around the mangroves on high water using shrimp on a 1/8 oz jig head..
