Excellent Tarpon Fishing

{%image_id=41518%}On new years eve I had the pleasure to fish with NBA hall of famer Rick Barry and Gary Wagner the owner of The Giggling Marlin Bar in Cabo, he is also the owner of Rancho de Costa resort and fishing lodge in La Paz Mexico. Our day started out foggy and a stiff north wind, that made some of the nice reds we found not interested in eating. So we went to tarpon city. Once we got there the wind calmed and the sun came out. We found a lot of Tarpon, we had actual 20 bites, hooked and jumped 13 more and landed 2 tarpon. Both tarpon were estimated 160 pounds and the other at 110 pounds and they ALL ate Rapala subsurface lures. There were plenty of poons on the surface to gets shots on a fly rod.
