The winds should start to dwindle soon it's been steady at 20 mph for months. When the winds come down the Tarpon will definitely get into the normal spring time pattern instead of being out in the Gulf. The Snook fishing in Florida Bay has been disappointing but Whitewater Bay north has been of fire. The Tarpon are on the ocean side flats but so are the crowds, the Bonefish and Permit should be in good supply. The Tarpon in Government Cut are still active and will be there until the end of next month. 050308 I fished with Jim and Frank today out of Flamingo, The fishing was slow an it was still breezy, now factor in a algae bloom which seemed to move the fish from a lot of there normal haunts. The Snook bite in Florida Bay has been very abnormal the last few week sand the Tarpon are still in the gulf. There were no shortage of Trout,Jacks, Ladyfish, Bluefish and Sharks to keep us busy. 050508 I met Chip, Sonny and Bill down in Islamorada and ran over to the Flamingo area in their boat. The water was in good shape south of Flamingo, no algae bloom so we fished some of the banks and troughs. We caught a Barracuda and a Jack on the first spot as we watched some mullet get busted, but we couldn't get a hit. The Next Spot produced some nice size Trout and Jacks but no Snook, it was strictly a Snook and Tarpon spot. the Tarpon Made an appearance but every time we cast at them the Ladyfish got the bait first. I decide it was time to run to the Gulf for Tarpon and we found the mother load with some Permit mixed in. I had all 3 guys ready with lures and Pinfish and we cast and cast in front the schools but they were moving quickly and would not eat. The area was erupting with acres of bait getting busted so we ran over and proceeded to catch fish on every cast for at least 2 hours. Big Jacks, Bluefish, Mackerel and hundreds of Sharks were in every school and they caught them on plugs, jerk baits and Gulp Shrimp.

Tight Lines,
