Flamingo Fishing Report

We have had some crazy weather over the last few weeks. Early this month it was extremely cold and windy and now it feels like the middle of spring. With the warm weather, the big tarpon have pushed into the backcountry. This time of year we hook some of the biggest tarpon of the year. Most fish are 60-80lbs. but it is not uncommon to hook fish into the 130-150 lb class. There has been lots of fish around and we have been getting them both on plugs and flies. {%image_id=58006%}{%image_id=58007%}{%image_id=58008%}{%image_id=58009%}{%image_id=58010%}{%image_id=58011%} The snook fishing is also very good right now with the warm weather. If you can find some good clean water, then you will definitely find some snook. If this is any indication of our tarpon season, looks like we are in for a good one!
