Hot Summer Fishing and Boating

Summer fishing began with wet weather and some wild storms. Water flow constantly affects the coastal Everglades and even urban and bay fishing. This is an important note to observe. And as we move forward into the heat of the summer you'll want to plan your trips early and then late, for best results. Everglades fishing can be good all day but there will be superb action very early in the morning when the tarpon begin to roll for air. Right now the snook are hitting hardbaits, jigs, and topwater baits. Live baiting is also good but I like to cover more area by using artificials. Go with a reasonably stout pole and good line and get them to the boat quick. The bull sharks are very fast and aggressive and they will take the snook for a lunch-they don't have to follow the closed season rules.
