Got an early start and hit Flamingo. Conditions didn't look too hot after extremely heavy rainfall, there was lots of fresh water and a decent southwest wind. Fortunately, the fish didn't seem to care. We threw topwaters and jigs all day and managed a very respectable catch. javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27292%}') One of the many double headers javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27293%}') This guy went 30 inches javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27295%}') Double of snook javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27294%}') 15+ pound black drum It was a fun day and it was pretty clear that fishing has been and will remain solid. It's a great time of year over there... Final Tally- 18 snook to 30'', a big black drum, 1 redfish, sheepshead, ladyfish, and jacks After having a sold day even though the conditions weren't very good on Saturday, we returned for more this past Monday. Conditions were better and the fishing was pretty spectacular. We didn't catch many trophy fish but the quantity was there! Nearly every cast produced a strike and we caught a plethora of different species. We even managed 3 backcountry slams (1 for each of the 3 people on board). All the fish were caught on topwaters and bucktails. We even had a couple 15 plus pound snook destroy the topwaters which will leave us solid memories even though we didn't land the fish. javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27296%}') Completing the slam javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27297%}') One of many redfish javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27298%}') One of many snook javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27299%}') Solid red javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27301%}') Nice snook javascript:insert_image('{%image_id=27300%}') Double header Overall the fishing is excellent over in Flamingo right now and should remain this way. Now is a great time to book a charter Final tally- 30 redfish to 22 inches, 20 snook to 25 inches, 3 trout (3 backcountry slams- every person on board), jacks, ladyfish, and 4 spanish mackerel Check out our new website - http://fishmiamicharters.com/index.php for more information.
