Summer At Peak

Summer fishing is at its peak here in south Florida. One of the best bites has to be the snook bite. Snook are very active with warm, steady temperartes and are being very responsive to lure fished along beaches and mangroves. Our favorite lure has been a single hook jig with a plastic tail attached for weedless presentation and good bottom bouncing. They really feel the lure hit the water, bounce, bounce, and boom-a hook-up. Now, it is pretty warm which means oxygen levels are depleted so fight the fish hard and release them quickly. Also there are too many bull sharks around so double the quickness and save the snook. Flamingo has seen a great snook bite. It has been the mecca of sportfishing down here for some time. Biscayne Bay has also had great action on the flats and cuts. This is my favorite time to jump in and poke around with my hawaiian sling.
