Winter Fishing in S. Florida

The bite at Flamingo seems to be doing pretty well and now seeing more boaters on the water than before. I think it has to do with more desirable conditions and cheaper gas. Fishing is the number one reason though. And I expect to spend a lot more time there on charters and fishing in the coming weeks. Snook, redfish, drum, and sheepshead are already biting pretty steadily if you work the tide right. Inside waters have been hit or miss. Areas like Lane and Hell's Bay can be good on the right days. If you don't get a lot of hits in one area, it's usually best to move and keep plugging nearby or a different area altogether. In Biscayne Bay I had the good fortune to fish with Virgil Price for a few days and we had some interesting results. We caught an assortment of fish like grouper, snapper, large porgies, barracuda, and some large jacks. Bonefishing was tough for us due to water temperature however action was steady.
