{%image_id=61575%} There's a great dolphin bite happening right now off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. We're finding them in 300-600ft of water, about 2-6 miles offshore. December is always one of our top months to go dolphin fishing in Fort Lauderdale. There are usually a few weedlines formed offshore, the best place to go to try to find dolphin fish. I like to put my trolling spread out as soon as we get into about 100ft of water, and then just keep trolling offshore until we find something good to fish next to. {%image_id=61596%} When you are trolling offshore, there isn't any bottom structure or any particular 'spot' where you can go to catch fish. Everything offshore is just moving along with the Gulfstream current, constantly in motion, heading 3-4mph to the North. You must simply troll around and cover as much territory out there as you can, keeping your eyes peeled for floating logs or debris, weedlines, birds, slicks or current edges. Just about anything can hold fish when you're offshore, you just have to get lucky and find your 'pot of gold' out there. {%image_id=61593%} Wahoo, tuna, mahi and even the rare blue marlin are possible when fishing offshore. And December is the month when these fish are around. You never know what you will catch when fishing offshore in Fort Lauderdale. Good luck to everyone fishing this month. I will sea you on the water. Capt. Paul Roydhouse www.FishHeadquarters.com 754-214-7863 {%image_id=61595%}
