Dolphin Dreams

On Thursday, we fished with 3 guys from Canada. Before leaving the inlet we bought a dozen live google eyes and 2 dozen pilchards. On our way out of the inlet, they informed me it was their first time fishing in saltwater. I said ok, nice, I'll do my best to make it a memorable trip. With a northeast wind at about 10 knots and beautiful sunshine, I decided to go north and start in 135' off of the Steeple near Fort Lauderdale. It didn't take long, the first bait to hit the water was eaten immediately – and we had a nice mahi jumping all around the boat. In between the mahi action, I decided to put a few baits on the wreck. They produced a nice amberjack and one African pompano. Afterwards, we decided to go back to fishing the top of the water column and caught more mahi (dolphin). {%image_id=41050%} At the end of the trip they ended up with a total of 6 nice mahi for dinner! They were all happy and each of them had a big smile on their face. They said their saltwater fishing trip was a dream come true! Thank you! Good Luck & Tight Lines, Capt.
