1st Timers get all the fish! We headed offshore this morning With Mike Grimm from Swordfishing central and some of his family from Long Island who have never been fishing in the ocean before. We started off getting a couple dozen baits and headed off to the fishing grounds. Winds were NorthWest to start and slowly shifted to the North then Northeast toward the afternoon. We started off with a double header of Bonita upwards of 15 pounds easy. After awhile our drift was pushing us out deeper and thats when the Kingfish started hitting us. As we approached 150 feet or so young man Evan caught a glance of a fish jumping on the opposite side of boat were the baits were. We all quickly turned and noticed a Sailfish getting away. He had picked up one of the baits and ran upcurrent with it. I noticed the line was going under the boat so we grabbed the rod and got tight on Mr. Sailfish. Less than 20 minutes and we had him in the boat for a quick pic and release. By the end of our fishing day which was about 12 noon we had 4 nice Kingfish in the box, released about 10 Bonoito, released 1 Sailfish and had quite a bit of cut-offs. Another beautiful day fishing here in Ft.Lauderdale. Captain Cary Hanna
