Gettin Worked The past few weeks has been busy for me on the water but slow on the fishing. For half the customers that came out I appologize for the non bite. There was a run of small Kingfish that invaded our waters and stayed there for quite a while attacking the bait and wasting good goggle eyes and Tinkers. If I would of known I would have encouraged everyone to buy Pilchards. But I'm optimistic and always looking for the good fish. On Tuesday the 22nd the weather changed 100 percent for the best with glass calm waters to greet us. The previous day was 5-7 foot seas and all were sick within 2 hours. As I looked at the glassy seas I saw the opportunity to go well offshore and look for Dolphin. We watched a few Sailfish in 700 feet of water crashing pods of small flying fish but they were gone as qick as they appeared. We moved inshore and drifted our baits only getting rocked by the wake of passing boats. Finally we got into the Dolphin in 150 feet just in time to head in. The Swordfishing has been disapointing also as last months moon was on fire and this month were getting skunked, until Tuesday night. Better late than never. We were on fire last night as we brought 2 fish to the boat out of 7 bites. A few other boats were hooking up also. I was encouraged to try some new areas and they produced very good. At first the bite was on the deep rods for the first few hours then the bite changed and our shallow tip rods were getting knocked down. we had a few fish jump which was so awsome to watch as the ocean blended in with the sky color. I never saw the ocean look so gorgeous and calm. As we were heading out it felt like we were riding on a cushion. The temperature was perfect as well. As a charter boat I'm grateful to get out there as much as I do and see all the beautiful conditions and different fishing opportunities. Come on out and experience what I have been seeing and see if it's all that, or maybe it's just me. Captain Cary Hanna www.newlattitude.com 954-907-0967
