Sweet Summertime We are back up and running with new power on the boat and getting our turn on catching some great fish! A few weeks ago while my boat was down I was able to get out my customers on my good friend Josh Coe's boat while the bite was hot. We took out George Murphee for 6 hours and put him on so many Kingfish one of which went about 35 pounds. Finally among all the bites we get a Sailfish on the line and George put a whipping on him. We took a few pics and sent him back home. Troy Cloward was in a nice bite as well boating one of the longest Kingfish I have seen in a while. I thought for sure he was next to 50 pounds but went 40. The fish ate a Goggle eye bait and screamed the reel for over a 100 yards on his first run. Dave from Maryland came aboard and also was in a nice bite as we caught and missed so many Kingfish but also got the Tuna surprise. We were slow trolling our live baits as the current was hardly moving. Suddenly an explosion right behind the boat on the short rigger. The fish dives deep and gives Dave a run for his money. Finally the fish comes boatside and I see the beautiful gold stripe identifying mark. We boat this fish and we were both happy as kids. Its a great time to get out as the weather is holding out with flat calm seas and very fishable conditions. The Swordfish bite has picked up a bit in the last week with some great reports coming in. See you on the rip, Captain Cary Hanna
