Fort Lauderdale Charter Fishing/ Dolphin and more

There are many ways to prepare for a Fort Lauderdale fishing charter but the best way was recently done by Kelly and her husband Louis. With their reservations made months ago, even pre paying so as not to be bothered with that at trip time, we had numerous emails discussing the trip, what was wanted as far as food and beverage an so on. No expectations other than having fun. This was a surprise for Louis that he was finally let in on before it came to be. She mentioned this on Facebook, the surprise. Nice Kelly, he'll never see it here on the web. Turns out he didn't. LOL With our breezy day and seas running about 2-3' we ventured out. Fishing has been pretty good, Sailfish appearing with our recent cool front coming through. Split charters are always a little tense wanting all to catch a few fish. Rich joined this trip at the last moment so there were 3 to please. And the fish gods made this quite easy today. Our plans were some trolling and a couple of bomber Bonito began our day. A Skip came next and then inside us close to the reef, some Frigate birds were working the water. We ventured in to see what was going on. Our first strike under the birds was a nice gaffer Dolphin with to other strikes. I was surprised to see another Skippy and Bonito to round out the group. Usually another Dolphin or two is what will be encountered. Chris had not stopped trying to keep baits in the water since we began and the way the fish were biting, that was no easy task. But things slowed down a bit and we began a steady few hours of strike after strike until it was time to go home.{%image_id=23324%} We ended up with 3 Dolphin, another lost at the transom, 2 Skippys, 6 Kingfish that we boated and let another 3 go and a handful of Bonitos. We never raised a Sail today and I was surprised at that, they are around. By the end of MY day, getting home at around 5, I found messages on our Facebook page from Kelly posted already. The restaurant next door had done an excellent job with their fish. Fresh fish is funny that way. LOL Another note came later after dinner when they used Chris's recipe for cooking the King. He'll probably want a raise now since chef has joined him being a captain as well as the deck hand. LOL So thank you Kelly, Louis AND rich, for making and enjoyable day of fishing even more enjoyable with your company and your excitement.
