As promised March truly kicked off South Florida fishing. Our Fort Lauderdale waters have been alive with kingfish, bonitas, mahi mahi's, sailfish, amberjacks and sharks. Now with April here expect more of the same. Here on the Local knowledge 954 522 4773 we have had some banner days. Big mahi mahi have been finding our baits on a regular basis, ready to challenge any angler and their tackle. Plenty of "schoolies" abound as well making tasty dinners and enjoyable trips for everyone. The amberjacks are down on Fort Lauderdale's numerous artificial and natural reefs. These backbreakers will wear you out and one or two are more than enough. Sailfish continue to push on their migration south, falling victim to kite baits and the occasional trolled bait. Sharks are her as well, they are big and powerful. Makos, hammerheads and bull sharks make up most of the fish we see. Although an occasional thresher also makes a showing

Tight Lines,

Capt. Mike Johnson
