Bonitas and more Bonitas! The Bonitas are here in force. A troll along the reef in 70 to 160' is all Bonitas. We did manage to catch a few King Mackeral out of all the Bonitas that are around. The Swordfishing has been absolutely fantastic! The last three trips has produced 4 fish out of 10 bites. The fish were 50 to 90 lbs each. We have been fishing in 1200 feet of water straight out of Fort Lauderdale. Our best depth for the baits is 100'. We usually put one at 75' one at 100', another at 150' and the last one at 200'. We have been using live google eyes for bait. Other catches have included a nice Bull Shark that was 7' and 250 lbs. that was released. Some Amberjacks on the wrecks. One Mutton Snapper of 16 lbs. on the wreck too! Yesterday live baiting in 240' of water we lost a Wahoo that we thought was over 70 lbs. We did manage to catch some nice Kingfish on live bait. The Bonitas still tried to eat our biggest live baits! Dolphing fishing has been real slow. Few fish and most of them are 20 to 30 miles offshore. Today were going to catch some Bonitas on a fly rod. It's a lot of fun! Catch-em-up, Captain Kunta
