THE SAILFISH ARE HERE! The weather is great and the Sailfish showed up in great numbers. We fished everyday the past week. Most of the trips were all day trips, so we ran south to the Miami Sea Buoy. We would set up in 130’ of water and within the first hour we would have a bite or two from a Sailfish. Our best day was 12 for 20 (Sails) and our worst day was 6 for 10. One day we ran South and the Sails were not biting according to the radio. We went into 70’ of water and put two planers out with swimming ballyhoo out for bait. Within one hour we had 5 groupers of 12 lbs with the biggest being 23 lbs. Saturday we fished two half days and went 5 for 7 on the Sailfish on the morning trip and went 3 for 6 in the Afternoon trip. There are a few Kingfish around with a scattered Mahi-mahi here and there. I haven’t heard of too many Wahoo over here, but they are catching a lot of them in Bimini. The Swordfish bite is still awesome, when the weather permits us to get out there. Catch-em-up, Captain Kunta
