Swordfish and a Blue Marlin! What a week. Last week we were fighting a Hammerhead in 110’ of water and we left the kite up. I saw a boil on the short kite bait and the next thing we knew a Blue Marlin was jumping under the kite. Three hours later the Marlin died and sunk to the bottom. With only 30 lb line it took us a while to inch the fish to the boat. Back at the dock the fish weighed 357 lbs. On Saturday night we fished the Swordfish tournament. 47 boats and the weather got calm. At 8:30 PM we got a bite on a squid at 100’ down. 20 minutes later we had a fish in the boat. We caught and released another fish about midnight and missed another at 2 AM. The fish we caught weighed 122 lbs at the scales. At 6 AM we were declared the winner! 1st Place and a nice check! 2nd place was 104 lb fish and 3rd place was 101 lbs. During the Miami Dolphin tournament we caught one nice Black-fin Tuna and a Sailfish, finishing just out of the money. Fishing has been decent with King Mackerel in the AM and some Bonitas showing up trolling on the reef. We did catch some nice Sharks this week on the wrecks and some Mahi-mahi (Dolphin fish) offshore. Catch-em-up Captain Kunta
