Swordfish, Sailfish and Kingfish! The Swordfish tournament was Oct 4th, and fishing was tough for most boats. 30 boats and only 8 fish caught. We ran to our "Secret Spot" and set the baits out at 7:30 PM. Within the first hour we had caught and released 2 small Swordfish about 50 lbs each. About 1:45 Am the 175' bait went off. The angler was winding as fast as he could to get tight and the next thing we new a lightstick was coming at the boat, fast! We had to run away from the fish. The Swordfish was trying to RAM the boat! After a nice battle we put the fish in the boat. At the weigh in we had the second biggest fish (92 lbs)and won some money for our charter. The biggest fish was 106 lbs. With fishing over at 2AM we were more thab happy with our last minute bite. Last Saturday we were 2 for 3 on the Sailfish. The wind was out of the North and we had a nice North current. The conditions were perfect! We live baited small bonitas and the Saifish bit. We also had plenty of action from small Kingfish and Barracudas. There are plenty of small Kingfish on the reef and a few Bonitas mixed in. The groupers have started to show up on the wrecks. Fishing is good, and this time of year the tourist are not here, so it's nice to get out as we have no pressure from too many boats out there! Let's go Fishing! Catch-em-up, Captain Kunta
