Bonitos, Scattered Mahi-mahi and King Mackerel. The waters have really heated up without much rain for the past two weeks. Fishing has been decent one day and slow the next day. It did rain this weekend which we hope will cool the waters down. We have been out the past three nights with each night averaging two bites a night! The fish have been around 60 to 100 lbs. The Bonitos and King Mackerel are on the reef. But then even these fish eat good one day and disappear the next day. We did catch some decent sized Amberjacks on the wrecks and we even caught two Warsaw Groupers about 90 lbs. each. The red snapper fishing has been pretty good lately. There has been some Mahi-mahi (Dolphin fish) under the birds offshore. Most of the fish are too small to keep (new 20” short length minimum). They are still a lot of fun to catch on light tackle. The waters have been calm and we hope to see the fish starting to bite again now that it rained. So let’s go fishing!
