Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Winter made a tease apperance at the beginning of the month but during the last week we were thrown a curve. The breeze is blowing from the souheast and a fair amount of clouds and rain are sitting on us. When this warm summer like pattern moves in it can stall the migration of bait and gamefish we wait for here. During the last week we started most days offshore and moved inside once the seas shook up the anglers enough. The jack crevalles are cruising the canals and a slow trolled live bait seemed to trick them into biting. The Cudas are scattered, mostly because the baitfish is too. Some of my favorite spots near the harbor can be slow when the new bridge construction dirties up the water. That's when I head up river. It looks like the winds are coming around tommorow so the flow of fish should start again this week. On the outside we are getting an occasional sailfish, kingfish and dolphin. All the action has been in close as long as the water is clean. Check back for the latest. I'll change the report as soon as the weather and action comes around.
