Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fall run has turned out to be more of a walk so far. No real big pushes and only a few days that required jackets. We have had a good showing of mullet and they are keeping the local predators fed. If you can find and shool early in the morning you can get into the Jack Crevalles, Barracuda and an occasional Tarpon. I was suprised when I found a huge school of Pompano swimming in the canal that my boats sits in. I caught and released over 20 and kept a few, wihout starting the motor or leaving the dock. Offshore the bite has been scattered and a test of paitience. A few Sailfish and Dolphin in close. The Kingfish are being scarce and a decent showing of Mutton Snapper on the bottom. Most days are on the quiet side but there have also been a few hot bite, turn ons when you get the weather conditions right. I guess that's fishing.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Andy Roydhouse
