Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Mid winter and watching the weather. We've been lucky and had more good days then bad. Compared to the rest of the country I guess it can be considered the best! So far this season, the action has been less then outrageous. We get our days but the water temp is staying up there and most of the migratory fish are taking thier time coming through. The Sailfishing has been slow the last few weeks although we had some decent Dolphin action. Kingfish are eating everything at times but when this is happening most are undersize, release fish. The bites can keep you busy though and if you are looking to catch fish they are cooperating. Inshore the Barracuda and Jacks are jumping on the live baits, as long as the tide is moving. As we get closer to spring the action will increase and get more consistent. Captain Ron Mallet www.actionsportfishing.com
