Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing during the last few weeks has been less then fantastic. We did have a suprise yesterday with a good amount of action. This winter has seen fairly warm weather and that has slowed the migration of fish into the southern reaches. Because of this the shots at great days have been limited. We did use all our baits yesterday on a fast and active Kingfish bite about a mile from shore. The average size was 10-12 ponuds but we did get into some over 20+. This was a nice break since we have finished many of my trips recently returning to the inshore waters to catch a few Barracuda and Jacks which have provided fast and consistent action. The good news is that the slow pace south for the fish usually means a strong return north once the season turns. As I let every angler know when we meet in the morning, each day is totally different and you never know what will happen. Yesterday proved that with a lot of Kingfish after a week or two of slow action offshore! Sea Ya, Captain Ron
