Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather has finally cooperated, and so have the fish. The last few days this week provided some of the best Kingfish action all winter. We had constant bites all morning. The bite did slow as we got into mid day. A little offshore we found some scattered Dolphin, while motoring deeper to conserve baits. They were mostly small schoolies but we did get a few up to 12 pounds. There have been a few Wahoo caught by the trollers. We had one bite through the leader at the side of the boat but that was my only sighting. Sailfish are still south and no consistent bites yet, any day we will start to see them moving north. This is the last day of winter and we all welcome spring and the great fishing it brings. Sea Ya, Captain Ron Mallet www.actionsportfishing.com
