Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Spring has made it although we never saw much of winter. The action over the last week has stepped up a bit off Fort Lauderdale. We had Sailfish the last few trips and a nice mix of Dolphin too. Yesterday brought us a good number of schoolie fish and one nice 18 pounder, only a mile straight out the inlet. The Kingfish bite was a bit quiet this week. The seas are kicked up right now so plan on picking your days to head offshore or use your local knowledge to keep the rods bent inshore. The inshore action has been very dependable with Barracuda and Jack Crevalles over the last few weeks. All you need is some live baits and a proper presentation, they will jump on quickly. Over the next month or two we should be into our best season for fish activity. If you have a chance to get out and the weather cooperates, expect to be involved with some fishy action.
